Sold individually as refills (the unfilled Perfect Palette pictured here costs C$21), the limited-edition Precious Gems Highlighter is a pressed powder highlighter embossed with a three-dimensional geometric pattern. "Canary Diamond" is a pale gold shimmer and "Rose Sapphire" is a soft pink shimmer. Both shades are silky and creamy, packed with fine, iridescent shimmers that provide a very sparkly finish.
Available in two shades, the Shimmer Liquid Eye Shadow comes in a plastic lipgloss tube paired with a doe-foot applicator. The formulation is lightweight and easily blendable, setting to a mostly smudge-proof finish. "Amethyst" is a pale icy lavender and "Graphite" is a medium silvery gray. Both shades are full of iridescent shimmers that provide a beautiful pop of shine on the lids. These liquid shadows can be used on their own but I think they are best dabbed on top of a base shadow for a more sophisticated look.
Mary Kay Limited Edition Redefining Elegance Nail Lacquers
Housed in a simple black tube which I wish was fancier and flashier to match the Precious Gems theme, the Sparkle Lipsticks are shimmer-packed lipsticks molded with a textured finish. "Sunstone" is a warm, opalescent nude shimmer. The shade doesn't have much of a base color but it's loaded with iridescent shimmers that shift between pale gold and pink. The formulation is nice and smooth with a sweet vanilla scent. The color has a fun, 90's vibe but I can't see myself pulling it off.
"Ruby" is a plummy berry scattered with iridescent shimmers that shift between pink and lavender. The formulation is slick and hydrating but the semi-sheer coverage is a bit patchy so several swipes are needed to build up and smooth out the color.
Two gorgeous shimmery nail polish shades are introduced as a part of the Precious Gems Collection. "Emerald" is a beautiful light teal blue consisting of silver and blue shimmers while "Rose Quartz" is an icy lavender pink packed with silver and pink shimmers. Both shades are filled to the brim with shimmer particles so the coverage is opaque and smooth. I used two coats for the swatches below.Ready or not, fall is not far away! Spooky Chic: Elegant Autumn
With five shades in each pan (3g total), these two limited editionEye Color Palettes are sold separately from the Mary Kay compacts (available for $20-22 CAD each). "Rosé Nudes" features an ivory cream, a soft mauve, a mauve-brown, a cool-tone brown, and a plummy dark brown. All the shades appear to have some subtle shimmers in the pan but when swatched, they are pretty much matte. Overall, the colors are fairly pigmented but their formulation is very dusty and thin. Therefore, these definitely require a good primer or they won't adhere well to the lids.
The "Simply Smoky" palette features a light dove gray, a soft elephant gray, a cement gray with subtle blue shimmers, a dark navy blue, and a deep plummy gray with soft blue shimmers. Again, the pigmentation of the shadows is not bad but the texture is overly powdery and slightly patchy. Mary Kay shadows tend to have a thinner formulation but these two palettes felt extra dusty and fallout-prone.
Packaged in a slim and sleek black tube, the Lip Suede lipsticks from Mary Kay are available in two limited edition colors for this fall. "Rosé Blush" is a light mauve-rose. The color wore a lot warmer than it swatched on the arm but it's still a very unique shade. "Mulberry Muse" is a dark, vampy berry. The formulation is slightly patchy but the color is so perfect for fall. Both shades have a satin finish and while they are very pigmented, the formulation feels noticeably tacky and heavy. With that said, the thick, waxy texture clings well to the lips to provide a longer than expected wear.

Mulberry Muse is a gorgeous dusty mauve; the formulation is decently pigmented and smooth. I used two coats for the swatches below.
A deep cool-tone plum, Violet Silk wears a lot darker than it appears in the bottle. The formulation is surprisingly sheer for such a dark color. Two coats provide a mostly opaque coverage but the sheer formulation made it difficult to achieve a clean cuticle line.
